overview
The English International School of Padua was founded in 1987 and has its own three-floor, purpose-built premises in via Forcellini, Padua, which includes outdoor areas, an indoor gymnasium, libraries, computer labs and dining room. The Director is the chief administrative officer of the school. The Head of the Early Years, Head of the Elementary, Head of the Secondary Schools ensure a whole school approach to offer continuity and quality of teaching and learning throughout the school.

The school has a large percentage of Italian children, with a growing number of students of other nationalities, many of whom have English as their first language. The school provides an all-round education with a broad and balanced curriculum.

The language of instruction is English. Children cover the full range of curriculum areas, combining the National Curriculums of Great Britain and Italy, thus ensuring a dual approach toward academic excellence. Members of the teaching staff hold British degrees with fully qualified teaching status and have a range of teaching experiences in the British education system, as well as in the teaching of English as a second language.

A good command of English is essential to a child's all-round development, as it is fundamental to a student' s acquisition of knowledge and skills. Every curriculum area provide oppurtunities to develop skills in communication, comprehension, vocabulary and reading and writing.

Admission to the English International School of Padua is open to all children based on the availability of places, with an oral entrance exam being required for English as a Second Language students, in order to assess their personal language needs before they join the Elementary or Secondary School.
